In the past couple days we spent our time taking trips around Lebanon to see some of the famous sites and cultural history. First we went to see the Jeita Grotto, the most spectacular and well known underground caves, which is also one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. It was the most amazing and overwhelming experience to be surrounded by such an awesome expression of Mother Earth’s beauty. We spent so many hours there, that without realizing it we spent the whole just canoeing and walking through all of the caverns. We would have loved to share pictures, but they had a strict no-camera policy, so you will just have to visit Lebanon yourself to see this wonder.
The next day we went to see the Cedars and the museum and birthplace of Kahlil Gibran. It was great to get an experience and understanding of such a cultural icon. We then spent a few hours hiking around the cedar forest (famous in Lebanon) and getting to see the different forms of nature in Lebanon. We also had a chance to meditate near the oldest cedar tree in Lebanon.
We came home exhausted, but excited for another activity filled day. Keep reading for more updates!
